I believe that something that sets me apart is the ability to play every position on the backend of the defense. Being versatile had helped me so much throughout my career and it is something I pride myself on.

How are you planning to prepare for the draft?

I am preparing back at home with the trainers I have been working with since my freshman year at Pro X/Pace. I will train here up and through our pro day. I am also planning on playing in the Dream Bowl in January.

What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?

I knew I wanted to play after my first practice as a 5 year old. I fell in love with the contact, the enthusiasm, and the overall feeling of putting a uniform on. Ever since then I’ve wanted to play.

What do you think are the keys to success on the football field?

Being confident & being confident in your responsibilities is the most important thing on the field in regard to being successful. Confidence allows you to play at full speed. Second would be understanding your opponent, this is done throughout the week in film. Being able to see what they do and how to attack it allows you to make plays, which in essence allows you to win games.

What should we know about Jalen Moss the person?

I am a very hard worker in every aspect of my life, I am someone that even when things get tough and aren’t going the way I envisioned I stick through it and continue to put my head down and work. I never quit on anything, and put my all into everything I do. I am very family oriented, and someone that is very reliable on and off the field.

What are your favorite moments from your football life?

I would say my all time favorite moment was winning the National Championship my freshman year at Saint Francis, and being a contributing factor on that team. That whole year was a very exciting way to enter the college football world. And then after that I would say getting my first collegiate interception my sophomore year in a big time playoff game against Baker.

What type of energy do you bring onto the football field?

I bring a lot of energy on the field, in the locker room, and in life. I am a very optimistic person that always looks for the best in every situation, and on the field I’m the same way. Even when things aren’t going our way I’m still the exact same. I’m always smiling, and always ready to simply play because I love football. And that love for the game can be seen with how I play.

If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?

One person that I would want to hang out with is Tyrann Mathieu, I would want to pick his brain on how he plays being “undersized” and how he studies the game to be able to make plays. He is my favorite player in the NFL, and I would want to really see how he lives his life in order to be successful.

What do you love about the game of football?

I love the physicality of football, and how it really shows what type of person you are on the inside. I also love that football is a sport that brings you close to so many different people from different states, backgrounds, etc. I wouldn’t have almost any of my closest friends today if it weren’t for this game. And lastly I love it because of the competition aspect, every play it’s you versus the guy across from you.

What would a team get in a player like you?

Any team that gets me is getting a player that loves the game of football, and someone that cares about the team over individual accolades. They would be getting a player that is going to do everything and anything to be successful. I will play any position needed to best help the team, and do everything I can to be great at that position.

What is your favorite coverage and why?

As a deep safety my favorite coverage would be any type of Cover 2, I like being able to see the entire field and being able to weave and read of the quarterbacks eyes. As a roll down safety my favorite coverage would be any variation of Cover 3. I like being able to roll down to the flats and anticipate routes thrown in that area.

How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?

I believe I handle challenges pretty well in both football and in life. I am the type of person that just keeps working no matter what is happening. I never quit and I always look for the best in every situation.
