What are your favorite moments from your football life?

When I got 2 interceptions against Riverside CC my first year of football.

If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?

If I could hang with any player it would be Troy Polamalu because of his success in the NFL and I feel as if I’m from the same cloth as well he’s built from to have success in the NFL.

What sets you apart from other defensive backs?

What sets me apart are my instincts and my motor. I use to play basketball since I switched to football my motor came with me and I’m going 100% every play.

How are you planning to prepare for the draft?

Preparing for the draft I’m working very meticulously on my craft, watching my tape and finding ways to get better seeing faults and exposing those to be a complete football player.

How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?

I handle challenges in life and with football by not worrying so much and letting God handle everything and keeping my head down, just keep working and BELIEVE.

What type of energy do you bring onto the football field?

The type of energy I bring to the field is just tenacity playing every down like it’s my last, I like to say I am the energy when I come onto the field the other team will have to match me or lose every down there up against me.

What is your favorite coverage and why?

My favorite coverage would have to be man to man. Because it’s an art playing man football and it gets the eyes of scouts to see my athleticism and route recognition to be able to pick or break up a pass.

What should you know about Devan Burrell the person?

What you should know about Devan Burrell as a person is I won’t give up on my dreams this is the closest I’ve ever been to playing at the highest level and I want this opportunity by any means.

What do you think are the keys to success on the football field?

The keys to success on the football field are reading the teams quarterback tendencies and film study by far. Plus knowing and studying the opposing coordinator knowing what he likes to do against certain coverages and teams. Film will help you with the down and distance and what they like to do in certain situations throughout the football game so you can make those explosive plays.

What would a team get in a player like you?

A team would get a relentless worker and a guy who wants to be better on and off the field. I have a mamba mentality that spreads among my teammates from the grit and IQ I play with on the field.

What are you looking to achieve as a football player going forward?

I’m looking to achieve success at the highest level as a football player. To make my coaches and teammates better everyday. Learning the game more because there’s always more to learn. Always room to get better everyday.

What do you love about the game of football?

What I love about the game of football is the relationships you make with your teammates and coaches that goes a long way there’s nothing like having brothers around you from all different types of places that believe in you as much as you believe in them or even more. And last just being someone from a place where nobody close to me made it out and them seeing me do it just makes me cherish the game more because of those who can’t play the game they love anymore it ignites me to go harder and keep going.
