Odell Beckham Jr. wants to play in Seattle, but the Niners have higher claiming rights

Did Odell Beckham Jr. ask to be traded several times from the Browns? It sure sounds like he wanted out since last season.
Did Odell Beckham Jr. ask to be traded several times from the Browns? It sure sounds like he wanted out since last season.

Last night when I was watching the Tennessee TItans beat up on the Los Angeles Rams , something interesting popped up on my screen. It was Mike Florio from Pro Football Talk, who was on Football Night in America where Florio said Beckham prefers to land on the Seattle Seahawks but would not mind playing for the Saints and 49ers.

This was interesting to me, because I thought about the situation. The Seahawks actually have a pretty high spot. They would actually pick 10th right now. The only team of those three that has a higher pick is the Niners. The Niners are now sitting at 9th overall in the waiver wire order.

You see, Odell Beckham Jr. may want to play for a contender, but right now neither the 49ers or the Seahawks are contenders. There have been rumors that he may not play for a team if they claim him. That was the notion that was spread to the media over the weekend.

With that being said, several teams may end up passing on Odell, but I personally would not be shocked if the 49ers end up taking their shot at him before. The one team I would keep an eye on is the Philadelphia Eagles. Could they surprise everyone and claim him?

We will find out soon. But first he has to be released….
