A man and a woman arrested in the killing of Lenoir Rhyne football player Omari Alexander

A man and woman were arrested for the killing of Lenoir Rhyne football player Omari Alexander.

Omari Alexander was an up and coming wide receiver from Lenoir Rhyne University who was shot and killed on November 20th.

Alexander was reportedly shot multiple times according to the police reports and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have been working hard and have arrested both a man and a woman in connection to the murder.

20-year-old Hailee Maureen Melanson was arrested and charged with felony accessory after the fact in connection to Alexander’s death. She was placed in the Catawba County Detention Facility without bond on the accessory charge. Melanson is also charged with failure to appear on a count of second-degree trespassing and bond was set at $1,500 bond.

Quavius Shamond Izard, 21, was taken into custody after a resident seen Izard on their property. Izard was charged with first-degree murder in the killing of Omari Alexander.
