Mississippi High School football player Landon Woodson dies of COVID-19 at the age of 16

According to multiple reports, Landon Woodson, a 16-year-old football player at North Pontotoc High School, died of COVID-19 at the end of the month.

His Mother made a post on social media stating Landon was a healthy kid until COVID, and also stated he passed away at Memphis Children’s Hospital after suffering cardiac arrest.

His high school and the School District are now being blamed because they lifted the mask mandate with cases dropping just ten days before he contracted the virus.

North Pontotoc decided to drop the mask mandate because cases had since fallen from 5,763 students testing positive statewide during the week of Aug. 16 to 1,084 last week.

His Mother cried out to her friends and family to get vaccinated on her Facebook. We please ask you keep her in your prayers and the rest of Landon’s family in your prayers during this tough time.
