The Top 5 Division 2 football games to watch in Week 6 of College Football

L'liott Curry Henderson State

Hello I am Justin Berendzen (@jrberendzen) on Twitter and here are my matchups to watch for week 6 of the Division 2 football schedule.

1.Bowie State University at Chowan University (October 9th)

This matchup features 2 very highly rated defenses. Bowie State defense is led by one of there captain’s junior defensive lineman Joshua Pryor. Chowan has 3 absolute monsters on the defensive line in senior Rafiq Abdul-Wahid, senior Gilberto Ortiz and redshirt freshman Issac Anderson. Then offensively these 2 teams are each led by senior quarterbacks Ja’Rome Johnson (Bowie State) and Bryce Witt (Chowan). This game can be the best division 2 game of week 6 and people should watch.

2.Colorado School of Mines at Black Hills State University (October 9th)

This is a battle of 2 teams that have clashing styles Colorado Mines has a top 5 total defense in division 2 and Black Hills State University has a top 15 total offense in division 2. Colorado Mines defense has redshirt senior linebacker Gabriel Kortz who has 4.5 tackles for loss on the season so far. Black Hills State is led by junior running back Matthew Collier who has 536 rushing yards this season to this point. Colorado Mines offense is led by junior quarterback John Matocha who has thrown 13 touchdowns and has ran in for 2 touchdowns. Black Hills State defense has redshirt freshman Aaron Thiele who has 33 total tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks on the season. I think that this is a very underrated matchup in week 6.

3.Shippensburg University at West Chester University (October 9th)

I absolutely think that this will be a fun matchup even though both teams are not ranked but Shippensburg has a top 35 total offense and West Chester has a top 35 total defense. One of Shippensburg’s biggest targets on offense is Ian Sheehan freshman receiver has 468 receiving yards and 5 touchdowns on the season. West Chester defensively has a sack master in sophomore defensive lineman Michael Gobora and a do it all linebacker in senior Cole Zapf. West Chester also has some decent pieces offensively in sophomore running back Ja’den McKenzie and senior tight end Dan Neuhaus who can be a big time threat downfield if he gets the ball.

4.Truman State University at Missouri S&T University (October 9th)

This game is going to have lots of offense if you like offense watch this game. Truman State has one of the best running backs in division 2 in sophomore running back Cody Schrader who has 766 rushing yards and 9 touchdowns. On Missouri S&T’s side they have one of the best division 2 receivers in redshirt senior Breon Michel who has 714 receiving yards and 9 touchdowns.

5.East Central University at Henderson State University (October 9th)

Another intriguing offense versus defense matchup in week 6 of the division 2 schedule is the high powered 6th ranked total offense of Henderson State up against the 41st ranked total defense of East Central. Henderson State’s offense has explosive redshirt senior receiver L’Liott Curry who has 565 receiving yards and 6 touchdowns. East Central defense is led by redshirt senior linebacker RJ Williams who has 40 total tackles, 4 tackles for loss and 1 sack. Henderson State defense has redshirt sophomore defensive back Dedric O’Bryant who has 30 total tackles, 2 interceptions and 5 PBUs. Sets up to be a good matchup is East Central can compete offensively.
