Former Jets’ scout says GM Joe Douglas should start packing up his office | Zach Wilson continues to look like a bust

Zach Wilson Jets Joe Douglas
How many more years will Joe Douglas get to turn the Jets organization around? Zach Wilson looks lost and the Jets are failing.

How many more weeks of Jets’ quarterback (QB) Zach Wilson doing the same exact thing, will it take before the country will say it with me…

Zach Wilson is a bust.

I have been saying it since before the draft (here is that scouting report) and I have said it every step of the way over and over again, it is all time and date stamped and well documented.

I was the only person in America saying it pre-draft, everyone thought I was crazy and all Wilson has done is prove me to be right.

The announcer even said after his first interception against Denver, “How will Wilson respond?”

Wilson responded by throwing yet another interception because that is who Wilson is. I said pre-draft that Wilson is an “Interception Machine.”

7 interceptions in three games and a good handful of other passes too that defenders have also gotten a hand on and broken up.

I am tired of people wrapping and insulating Wilson in excuses. He is awful. Anyone in their right mind who watched his game film at BYU could plainly see his ball placement was all over the road, as his receivers were sliding and jumping all over the place trying to catch his errant passes.

Guess what?

His ball placement is still all over the place. Wilson is erratic as erratic gets. Even on some short passes he is throwing it at the receivers feet or he throws it behind a receiver, like he did Sunday.

Wilson has no big play capability whatsoever. I plainly said this before the season even started (here is that article) Defenses do not even need to focus on deep coverages. Most of the time, all he can manage to do is try to stick with the short passing game. The word, “try,” being the operative word.

The game plan is set. Play 8 in the box and tight man coverage. Clamp down on the short passing game and let the fun begin.

Here’s the thing – – this is not a rookie thing. I have been watching the game for 40 years. This is who Zach Wilson is and there is nothing anybody in America who can dispute what I am saying. He can not throw it at any route level with any consistency whatsoever. That’s a problem.

Wilson is a text-book example of bad scouting and playing politics. All the clues were there pre-draft and I put every one of them on paper. Everything that is happening is written in my pre-draft documented analysis before the Jets wasted the second pick overall.

Zach Wilson is going to make me a GM – – maybe even in New York. Black Monday is only 15 weeks away.

In the meantime defenses and the media will continue to pound the hell out of Wilson. The two combined will chip away at Wilson’s confidence and his body. Nobody can take an average of 5 sacks a game (15 sacks so far on the season) and remain standing.

If head coach Robert Saleh is smart, he will bench Wilson now to try to save his own job for one more year. If not, he will be gone too.
