2022 NFL Draft Prospect: Sean Dykes, TE, University of Memphis | Hula Bowl Spotlight

Sean Dykes Memphis Draft Diamonds
University of Memphis tight end Sean Dykes has been a beast in his collegiate career. He is flying up my draft board. I like the kid, he has talent.

There is a sleeper tight end prospect at the University of Memphis. His name is Sean Dykes and he is playing some big boy football right now. The 6’2, 230 pounds tight end/H-back from Memphis has been impressive.

Dykes has played in 55 games over his career, but this year he is on pace to break personal records. In 2020 through 11 games he hauled in 47 passes for 581 yards and 7 touchdowns. This year alone through four games he has 322 yards and 2 touchdowns on just 17 receptions.

This year Dykes has been averaging 80.5 yards and has 18.9 yards per catch. Dykes reminds me a lot of Jordan Reed, both are athletic pass catchers with great hands and quickness.

Not many teams use an H-back type of player anymore, but Dykes elusiveness and playmaking ability has been impressive this year. I think a team like the Packers would have interest in Dykes.

NFL Draft Diamonds Scouting Notes

Sean Dykes is trending upward. He is having a great season for the Tigers. Dykes is not the biggest guy, but he is elusive and has soft hands. He has grown on me as a prospect. I watched the game of him against South Florida and he looked like former South Florida prospect Sean Price. Dykes tore up the USF team hauling in 7 receptions for 147 yards and scored twice. He looked impressive. This past week against UTSA he had 167 yards receiving. – Damond Talbot, Director of Scouting, Hula Bowl
