Was Mac Jones teaching Cam Newton the Patriots playbook? Former Patriots player says that is why Cam was released
When Cam Newton was released last week it was a shock to many around the league. Many were saying Mac Jones beat out the former NFL MVP, but former Patriots linebacker Rob Ninkovich is saying Jones truly beat him out.
According to Ninkovich, the rookie knew the offense so well he was actually teaching Newton to learn the playbook.
Ninkovich also pointed out that Newton did not run the no-huddle offense or two-minute drill during the preseason, because of this. Geez that sounds bad. Will Cam Newton find a new home?
