According to reports, Louisiana native and Haughton High School senior defensive lineman Christian Smith died unexepectedly on MOnday Night.
The 400 pound run stuffer was an asset to the team on and off the field, according to his head coach Jason Brotherton, per KSLA12 news in Louisiana.
“You can always put another person in there to play, but you can’t replace that big 400-pound guy. Cause he was a big kid sitting in locker 59,” he said.
“If I could describe him, he was a man of few words but many smiles. He didn’t talk a lot but he was always smiling” Brotherton said.
The 6-foot-2, 420-pound Smith played nose guard. His brother found Caleb found him at their home and had him rushed to the local hospital.
No other information was provided about the nature of the student’s death.
Please keep his family and friends in your prayers during this tough time.
