According to the family of Quandarius Wilburn the Freshman football player died from cardiac arrest. Sandra Nelson the grandmother of Wilburn, said the 6’2 pass rusher went into cardiac arrest and they did everything they could to save him, and they couldn’t.
“He went into cardiac arrest,” Nelson said Tuesday in a phone interview with Roanoke.com. “They did everything they could to save him, and they couldn’t save him.”
The 18 year old football prospect’s body is going through an autopsy now, and is still pending. The school had a church session, ate breakfast and lunch together before practicing on Sunday. Unfortunately, the young man who was in great shape collapsed during the practice.
His mother said her son never smoked, never did drugs, and people loved him.
Quandarius arrived to campus at VUU on July 12th. Please keep the family and friends in your prayers.
