We are learning that five players have been released by the New England Patriots.

The five players released were Malik Gant, Brian Khoury, RJ Prince, Devin Ross, and Marcus Martin.

Gant is a 6′ safety from Marshall University who had a solid collegiate career for the Thundering Herd. He has a limited career in the NFL after entering the 2019 season as an undrafted free agent. He will have to clear waivers.

Khoury was a small school standout from the XFL who is a longsnapper. The 29 year old was a beast at Carnegie Melon racking up 29 1/2 sacks in his career. He turned into quite the longsnapper, and will also have to clear waivers. He was in Baltimore last season.

RJ Prince is one of the most athletic and gifted offensive linemen I have ever witnessed. The Patriots could bring him back to their practice squad. He was playing first team field goal and had a key block this off-season to spring Stevenson for a huge touchdown run in their first preseason game.

Devin Ross the former Colorado wide receiver was released today in a crowded receiving room. Devin Ross was signed by the New England Patriots as a free agent on June 21, 2021. He has bounced around on a few teams to include the Titans and Eagles.

Marcus Martin originally entered the NFL as a third-round draft pick (70th overall) by the San Francisco 49ers out of USC in the 2014 NFL Draft. He was signed in 2020, by the Patriots. The former USC Trojan struggled mightily in his first two games causing several penalties.
