Former Miami Hurricanes football player arrested for killing his teammate Bryan Pata execution style

Rashaun Jones has been arrested for the execution style murder of his teammate Bryan Pata.

Rashaun Jones is finally in prison for the killing of his teammate Bryan Pata. The former University of Miami football standout was arrested for the killing of his teammate nearly 15 years ago.

Police arrested Jones in Lake City, Florida with the assistance of the US Marshalls. He is facing a first degree murder charge for the death.

Pata was a Miami native that was shot execution style back in November of 2006. The police and the family are excited about the news. Police detective Juan Segovia released this statement.

“I can tell you that we could have never [made the arrest] … without the community’s help,” Det. Juan Segovia of the Miami-Dade Police Department said in a video posted on social media. “Not only did the family never give up, not only did the family never stop fighting to figure out who killed Bryan Pata, but the community never stopped contacting us. Even if we got 1,000 tips but only one of them was the one that put all the pieces together, that’s what it took. And that’s exactly what happened in this case.”

It is crazy, but Jones if convicted could never touch the streets again to hurt anyone.
