Charleston Southern University lost a football player this morning when Freshman walk-on Lorvens Floreestal Jr. a 19-year-old defensive end from Del Ray Beach, Florida was shot and killed in West Ashley early this morning.

Florestal was shot and killed in a random act of violence outside of a West Ashley residence early Sunday morning. The gunman remains at large. Authorities are still investigating the incident, but witnesses confirm the CSU football walk-on was an innocent bystander.  

Charleston police responded about 2:50 a.m. to a location on Risher Street regarding a loud noise call. While officers were en route, gunshots were heard and police dispatch received calls reporting gunshots in the area. Two others were injured from the shooting.

Lorven Florestal Jr was a standout for Atlantic High School in Florida. In honor of him, we at NFL Draft Diamonds would like to highlight his senior year highlights from high school. Pleae keep the Florestal family in your prayers.
