Breaking: Saints signed TE Josh Pederson

University of Louisiana Monroe tight end Josh Pederson has been signed by the Saints.

Today the New Orleans Saints signed tight end Josh Pederson after a great workout.

We all know Doug Pederson the father of Josh Pederson because he led the Philadelphia Eagles to a Super Bowl Victory a few years ago. Well his son is the next big thing and let me tell you he is a special talent.

The younger Pederson was a key player for the University of Louisiana Monroe. Pederson was a two-year letterman at Blue Valley North High School in Overland, Kansas. He finished his career with 73 receptions and 1,102 yards receiving with 16 touchdowns. He was a solid player and ended up landing a scholarship to ULM.

In 2016, Pederson redshirted his freshman year not playing in one game. He was able to learn the offense and as a red-shirt freshman the 6050, 232 pound pass catcher had a solid year starting 6 games. He finished the season tied for sixth on the team in receiving with 12 catches for 36 yards.

He seen action in 11 games of the 2018 season. He would finish with 12 receptions for 121 yards and 2 touchdowns and was still not getting the ball like he should. That would change though.

Josh Pederson has great size and speed. He is very knowledgable of the game, and coming from a family with rich football knowledge is key. Pederson’s coach says he is a student of the game, and with tight ends being utilized more and more in the NFL, I could see Pederson turning into a very solid player at the next level. His route running is good and he has soft hands. Overall he is a big tight end that is a better pass catcher than blocker, but he can block if needed. – Damond Talbot, NFL Draft Diamonds Owner
