1. What type of energy do you bring onto the football field?

I feel like I bring a positive a positive energy to the team. Always willing to discuss things with teammates and I bring a high energy.

2. If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?

I’ll say Tyrann Mathieu, because I feel like we play the same style and have the same body type. So I feel like I can learn a lot from him.

3. What are your favorite things about playing football for UTEP?

I’ll probably just say playing under my head coach, Coach Dimel because he was my former offensive coordinator at Kansas State and I just feel comfortable playing under him.

4. What are your favorite moments from your football life?

I’ll say catching an interception against Texas and beating a number 5 ranked OU and getting my first career start against Mississippi State.

5. What is your favorite workout?

I’ll probably say squat.

6. What should we know about Walter Neil Jr the person?

I’ll just say I’m always happy, always energetic and I just love football.

7. What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?

When I was younger I was just good at it and better than my peers and then I took football seriously and I just knew what I got from it.

8. What sets you apart from other defensive backs?

Football IQ and play recognition.

9. What are you looking forward to in your upcoming season?

I’ll say new competition, being a new face in Conference USA will bring excitement because I will be facing new teams.

10. What would a team get in a player like you?

Just a leader, a team player, someone with playing experience and someone who will bring positive energy everyday.

11. What is your favorite coverage and why?

Press man to man, because there’s no other assignment besides locking up your receiver.

12. What do you love about the game of football?

I just love the bonds you build throughout it, you have to rely on the guy next to you and it’s the only sport the requires teamwork.
