Bowie State tight end Muntsier Sharfi becomes the 99th person to be killed in Washington, DC this year

Bowie State tight end Muntsier Sharfi had a lot of life left, but it was cut short. The 24-year-old standout football player became the 99th person to be killed in Washington, DC this year.

D.C. Police said they found Muntsier Sharfi dead from gunshot wounds Thursday night on the 3300 block of Southern Ave, Southeast. A former UVA-Wise football player was shot in Washington, D.C., and found dead inside an overturned car.

Sharfi was also a graduate student at Bowie State University working toward his master’s degree in information technology, the school’s alumni association said in a tweet. He was preparing to play football for BSU as a tight end in the fall.
