2022 NFL Draft Prospect Interview: Justin Felder, RB, Stonehill College

Stonehill College running back Justin Felder is one of the best scat backs around. The little water bug is tough and hard to tackle. He recently sat down with NFL Draft Diamonds owner Damond Talbot.

What makes you a top prospect at your position  in the 2022 NFL Draft? 

I feel I am a top prospect in this years NFL Draft because i am Versatile. People may look at me an say I’m small but i use that to my advantage. I can create mismatches not on in the run game but in the passing game as well. 

At what age were you first interested in the sport of football? 

I was first interested in the sport of football at the age of 7. 

What is one thing that NFL teams should know about you? 

 One thing that NFL teams should know about me is I am never going to be satisfied. There is fuel being added to a 20 year of fire still to this day. 

If you could donate to one cause in the world, what would it be? 

One cause that I would donate to this world would be a against mental health. In the past I’ve dealt with some mental health issues of my own, and the topic is widely disregarded especially in Athletes 

What is the best advice you have ever received?  

Redirection, pain, setbacks, shortcomings, highs, and lows, are all apart of the process embrace it, respect it, and Trust it be willing to surrender who you are for who you can become. 

Who was your childhood hero? 

My childhood hero was my Brother. He was some that I idolized and is the only reason why I found a love for football. 

Who is the most underrated teammate in your locker room at your school? 

The most underrated teammate in the Locker room is #2 Kevin Porch, he is the glue, a guy in the locker room that can relate with everyone and fit into any crowd.

What is your biggest pet peeve? 

My biggest pet peeve is when people ask obvious questions. 

Overcoming adversity is what defines character, what was the hardest moment in your life to overcome? 

The Hardest moment in my life to overcome was the transition from high school to college. Going from dependent living to independent living, as well as seeing a major decrease in playing time from my senior year of High School to my Freshman year of college 

Tell me something about your school and why it is so special to you? 

Stonehill was one of the few schools who were willing to take a chance on me coming out of high school and for that i am forever grateful. This place will forever hold a special place in my life.

What is your favorite snack food? 

My favorite snack food is Mike & Ikes 

What is the best part of football? 

The best part about football is the relationship you build. No matter the color of someone’s skin, race, ethnicity, social class, none of that matter on the field. Just you and your brothers making memories that’ll last a life time. 

If you could compare your play to one player in the NFL who would it be?

Clyde Edwards-Helaire

If you could have dinner with three people dead or alive, who would it be and why?

  1. Kobe Bryant – My all time favorite athlete ever, and some i looked up to  
  2. Barry Sanders – One of the greatest Running backs of all time & I feel I could adapt some of his running style into mine. 
  3. Drake – My favorite artist of all time
