Former Miami Hurricanes linebacker Brandon Marti is in some big trouble after trying to steal a helicopter at an airport in Florida.

Former Miami Hurricanes athlete Brandon Marti was arrested in Kissimmee, Florida after a very scary incident.

The former Hurricanes player was involved in a crash, then broke into an occupied home, took a pair of keys, drove their silver Nissan Altima to the Kissimmee Gateway Airport. He rammed the vehicle into a gate, then stole another vehicle after an altercation with the driver.

Marti overpowered a man and stole his Ford F-150. Marti then drove the truck to a helicopter, got inside, turned the keys in the ignition, and pressed buttons in an attempt to start the aircraft.

Guards confronted him and after trying to stop him, Marti then jumped into the stolen truck and drove off. This is not the first incident with law enforcement for Marti. The former UM linebacker a member of UM’s 2008 signing class, was arrested in 2009 on charges of battery and false imprisonment related to domestic violence.

According to Channel 6 news, Marti is in big trouble. Kissimmee police said Marti is facing charges of carjacking, burglary, grand theft, and criminal mischief in their jurisdiction. Deputies said Marti has been charged with aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, attempted carjacking, fleeing and eluding, and resisting arrest.
