1.What are your favorite things about playing football for Indiana State?

My favorite things about playing football at Indiana State are the relationships that I’ve made with past and present players, coaches, and classmates during my time here that will last a lifetime, and the opportunity to compete at a high level. It was once a dream and each day here has been a blessing.

2.If you  could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?

John Hekker, I love his passion for winning and his elite caliber of talent, being capable with not only his punts but his fakes as well.

3.What sets you apart from other punters?

I believe the thing that sets me apart from other punters is my athletic ability. Not only will I flip the field, but I can run faster than the LB and throw the ball with accuracy within 40 yards.

4.What is your mindset when you are on the football field?

I stay cool, calm, and collected while not letting my mind drift too far from the task at hand. Never get too high and never get too low from any circumstance.

5.What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?

My two older brothers, whom I’ve always looked up to, both played in high school and I always loved going to their games and being involved in the atmosphere and culture that comes with the game. I knew at a young age that I wanted to play for a long time.

6.What do you think are the keys to success on the football field?

The keys to success on the field are the level of preparedness beforehand. When you’re prepared, you don’t worry when you’re in the middle of a contest and in return, you do not cloud your abilities or judgment in a situation.

7.What should we know about Travis Reiner the person?

I come from a big family of 6 total kids: 3 boys and 3 girls of which I am the youngest of the bunch. I am an extroverted, charismatic student of life that enjoys learning new things. I have a BS in Chemistry with a minor in physics and am currently working on my MBA degree.

8.What is your favorite workout?

My favorite workout to do is a rear foot elevated front rack split squat during leg day.

9.What are your favorite moments from your football life?

My favorite moments from football life thus far have been when I got the call to come play at ISU from JUCO and when we kicked a game-winning field goal against WIU during a snowstorm my first year.

10.What  would a team get in a player like you?

The team will be getting a lethal weapon in the backfield as a punter that has multiple tools to beat the opposition and win the game. Combined with that is all my effort and energy that is directed toward the team, to be a leader by leading by example and make everyone else better.

11.How do you prepare for games?

I like to meditate to calm my mind down prior to competing and do mental imagery of my perfect repetition and scenarios that could happen in the game.

12.What are you looking forward to in your upcoming season?

I am looking forward to capping off my senior season with my friends here at ISU and winning the MVC.
