1.If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?

Julio Jones because I would love to work out with him and learn new things inside and out from the real and football world because he is one of the best receivers in the game.

2.What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?

When I was little my mother introduced me to football and I just started liking football and it brings joy and peace.

3.What is your favorite route and why? 

Fades, bombs, and posts because I can get by a defender up on my back. And I can always jump up and think 99 percent of the time I can get it. Post route because recently this past spring I ran a lot of posts and I was really effective and I don’t think people can stop me in post.

4.What are your favorite things about playing football for Heidelberg?

Coming into my freshman year I was a nobody just a regular old football player and in the spring the coaches pushed me to be better and I was really good this spring. But the main thing is the people there the coaches, teammates, and staff all support me.

5.What sets you apart from other wide receivers?

What sets me apart is I’m unique, I’m athletic, I’m talented and I’m very smart.

6.What type of energy do you bring onto the football field?

I just make plays that is the energy I bring when I’m on the field I hear nothing but the football. In the spring there was a game we were struggling and down 7-3 and one play I scored and made it 10-7 and the whole team was fired up.

7.What is your favorite workout?

I love the upper body.

8.What are your favorite moments from your football life?

My sophomore year we played Ohio Northern and I came into that game with 300-400 yards so far and I came out and set a career record for yards and scored 3 times and front flipped into the endzone to top it off.

9.What do you love about the game of football?

I love scoring touchdowns and interacting with teammates and love being out on the field playing freely and it keeps me active.

10.What would a team get in a player like you?

They would get everything conference and motivation, going to work hard every day and going to help my teammates out if they are down and they are going to get someone who is going to be the best he can be.

11.What are you looking forward to in your upcoming season?

Honestly, I’m looking forward to breaking a school record in touchdowns and receiving yards, be an All-American, and just ready to play my last college football season with my teammates.

12.What should people know about Maceo Matthews the person?

Nice person, is respectful and I’m just myself and funny and I want to be a great person. And I just want to be the best football player in Berg history.
