Akron High School Football player Kanyae Lamb shot and killed at the age of 17

Kanyae Lamb had a bright future, and it was taken from him. The 17-year-old football player from North High School in Akron, Ohio was shot and killed on the 700 block of Elma Street.

The junior pass rusher had a knack for getting after the quarterback. You can see the video of him blocking an extra point below.

His High School released the following statement:

All of Akron Public Schools is feeling the loss of Kanyae Lamb and grieves for him—-yet another young person victimized by violence

We ask that you pray for Kanyae and his family, his fellow students, the teachers, coaches and staff. We offer our support to them in any way possible.

Akron Public Schools is offering support for grieving students and families. We ask those who need support to call North High School at 330.761.2665 to arrange for grief counseling.

Police are asking anyone with information to call detectives at 330-375-2490 or 330-375-2Tip; call the Summit County Crime Stoppers at 330-434-COPS; or text TIPSCO with tips to 274637. Callers can remain anonymous.
