NFL Draft Diamonds Free Agent Interview: Jaron Moorer, Wide Receiver

Jaron Moorer Free Agent Interview
Jaron Moorer the speedy Free Agent wide receiver recently joined NFL Draft Diamonds writer Justin Berendzen for this exclusive interview.

Hello, I am @jrberendzen on Twitter and this is one of my free agent interviews where I ask very deserving free agents questions about the players themselves and about what a team would get in these players. All of these players should get picked up by NFL, CFL, and XFL teams and get a shot at being a career football player. So I hope you all read his interview here and follow his journey on Twitter @SlotMachine80

1.If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?

Brandon Banks, he was the first person to show the NFL that a smaller player can produce in the NFL.

2.What role do you hope to have if you make it into the NFL?

Game Changer, in college at Clarion University I averaged 29.8 yards a catch in 6 games. I’m a big playmaker, my indoor film shows that I can maneuver in tight spaces, so the big field wouldn’t be an issue.

3.What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?

My first sport ever was hockey at 8 years old, in a no-checking league, but I wouldn’t listen and still hit the other kids so I switched to football and it became a passion.

4.What is a skill that you have that you think translates into the NFL well?

My agility and speed. We saw this draft, the majority of the WRs being drafted are fast, shifty guys. That’s been my game.

5.What type of energy do you bring onto the football field?

I’m not a loud player or a talkative player, I show by example, that’s my energy, players will see me getting it done and that energy will transfer over to them.

6.What sets you apart from other wide receivers?

What sets me apart is my ambition and mentality I will do whatever it takes to help. My college coach instilled blocking in us, I take that with pride no matter what, I’ll put my body in the way so that the ball carrier can get extra yards. My hustler mentality will not allow me to slack off.

7.What is your favorite workout?

I’m a speed guy, so any track workout or any explosive weight room workout like hang cleans or box jumps.

8.What is a moment in your football career that improved you as a football player?

In my junior year of college. When I broke for 60 yards off a drag, was juking players, but got tired and was tackled at the 8. That moment helped me because I go harder in conditioning and speed workouts so nobody will have that opportunity to tackle me in that situation.

9.What do you think are the keys to success on the football field?

The keys to success are determination, reliability, hard work, attention to detail, and having fun.

10.What would a team get in a player like you?

They would get an amazing player, amazing teammate to all, hustler, coach, someone who will make sure it’s a team-first me second.

11.What is your mindset when you are on the football field?

The mindset of a hunter, I grew up off of survival so I take that to the field with me. I can play WR, special teams, I’ll go make a tackle. I live for the chase of success.

12.What do you hope to achieve as a football player going forward?

What I hope to receive is a bond, football is its own fraternity, and you can gather friendships and relationships with so many people that can help you when the game is over with.
