Steelers cornerback Justin Layne was arrested in Ohio for speeding, and a felony gun charge.

Former Michigan State cornerback Justin Layne is in trouble this morning after he was pulled over driving 89 in a 60 mile per hour zone in Ohio. According to Melinda Roeder on Twitter, Layne was arrested for speeding, driving on a suspended liscense and a firearm violation in a small town near Cleveland, Ohio.

The Steelers drafted Layne in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft. There were two others in the car with Layne according to the police report, but they were not charged. Police found marijuana residue, a loaded 9mm handgun in the center console of the car and Layne was ultimately charged with a fourth degree felony for improper handling of the firearm.

Layne appeared in all 16 games for the Steelers last year playing cornerback and special teams. He is competing to start for the Steelers in 2021, but this sure is heck is not a great way to start off your new season.
