Jadeveon Clowney Browns
Jadeveon Clowney has not been great the past two years while not on the Texans across from JJ Watt, can he benefit with playing across from Myles Garrett? We are about to find out.

There are rumors swirling that the Cleveland Browns are close to landing Jadeveon Clowney the former South Carolina prospect who has 32 career sacks. The wild stat is 29 of those sacks came in Houston when he was opposite of J.J. Watt.

When Clowney left for Seattle his numbers decreased heavily. He only played in 13 games for Seattle back in 2019, but he only racked up 3 sacks. Clowney was not the force he had been when he was opposite of J.J. Watt. Was that because he did not have another stud across from him? Possibly, but that year Quinton Jefferson a defensive tackle had more sacks than Clowney. Rasheem Green led the team with 4 sacks.

Last year, Jadeveon Clowney went to Tennessee and you will not believe this. He finished with 0 sacks in 8 games. His production has been very horrible for a top rated free agent prospect.

According to multiple reports, the Cleveland Browns are expected to meet with the veteran NFL pass rusher this week. Those reports suggest that Clowney and the Browns will come to an agreement on a deal. “The belief is both sides will ultimately strike a deal Monday, per sources,” NFL insider Jonathan Jones reported on Sunday night.

Many are saying it would be a major boost for the Browns, and while I would like to agree, I have to see it before I can comment. The one thing that will help Clowney in this situation is he will have another big name pass rusher on the other side. He could revitalize his career. With Myles Garrett on the other side, Clowney can be disruptive, but remember this, he is getting older (28), and has not been healthy for two years. He is definitely Pro Bowl caliber, but he will need to prove it.

I hope the Browns do not just throw money at him, I hope they structure their deal to make him prove his worth. At this point, they would do that for any other player, so I hope Clowney is not just given the benefit of the doubt because he was a highly rated draft prospect. Since entering the NFL, Clowney is a three time Pro Bowler, but lately he is not playing very well, and injuries have crushed him.
