Illinois State OT Drew Himmelman is officially entering the 2021 NFL Draft

Drew Himmelman from Illinois State is one of the best FCS offensive lineman. He is a mammoth of a man with great technique.

The NFL Draft is just a week away, and there is a new player being added to the list. Drew Himmelman the 6’9 offensive tackle from Illinois State who played in the spring is entering the 2021 NFL Draft.

Himmelman was able to get measured and run positional drills at the Illinois State pro day back in March and he looked the part. The massive tackle had an 82 and 1/2 inch wingspan and 33 3/4 arms. Himmelman was selected as a first team All-Missouri Valley Football Conference All-Star this week. Illinois State decided to opt out the final four games of the season because of depth and injury concerns, so Himmelman decided to enter the NFL Draft.

Drew thought it was going to be best to enter the NFL Draft. He spoke with his parents and coaches and decided it was the right move.

Last season, Drew started all 15 games at left tackle and was graded out at over 90 percent for the season. If you remember correctly James Robinson the Jaguars running back from last year tore itup that year rushing for 1,899 yards and scoring 18 times.

Himmelman went into the spring season starting 35 games and would finish this year with four more starts under his belt bringing his total to 39 career starts. Drew came to campus standing at  6-foot-8 weight 270 pounds and has really transformed himself into an NFL prospect during that time.
