The NFL Draft is quickly approaching, so I wanted to jump out there with a few very bold moves in the 2021 NFL Draft. I thought it would be fun to try to get a few of these right. I may have gotten a little carried away, but I thought it would be fun to make some moves that others are not expecting. Why not it is the NFL Draft, anything can happen right?

Four quarterbacks will be taken in a row!

I cannot remember when four quarterbacks went back to back to back to back ever. I am not going to do the research, but I figured it would be fun to throw it out there. Trevor Lawrence will go number 1 overall to the Jaguars, with Zach Wilson following to the Jets. The Niners have a tough decision, but they pull the trigger on Justin Fields, which is the right choice. The Falcons are on the clock, and they get a huge deal from a team no one is expecting. The Minnesota Vikings move up to four overall to select Trey Lance from North Dakota State. The Vikings really fell in love with Lance and while it is a steep move, they get their guy. It is only 10 spots but it costs them a little bit.

Dallas Cowboys give up a first round in 2022 to move up two spots to take Kyle Pitts

The Dallas Cowboys get their favorite player and Jerry Jones is happy. The Bengals select Ja’Marr Chase, the Dolphins take Penei Sewell and the Lions take Jaylen Waddle which leaves Kyle Pitts still on the board. The Carolina Panthers who could use a big time weapon elects to trade down with the Cowboys to pick up a 2022 1st round pick to allow the Cowboys to jump the Broncos. The Cowboys land the most athletic tight end in the NFL Draft, and they are not worried about the pick in 2022 because they feel they can win now!

Jaycee Horn is selected before Patrick Surtain

The New York Giants want to trade back and they do. The Los Angeles Chargers jump up to pick 11 and select a cornerback. They do not pick Patrick Surtain though. They select South Carolina cornerback Jaycee Horn. The Chargers love Horn and are willing to make the move to select him. The Chargers have a solid all around team, but adding a shut down corner in the secondary is huge for them because it can give Bosa more time to get after the quarterback.

Washington Football Team drafts Alabama RB Najee Harris

There are several holes on the Washington Football Team, but none bigger than the running back spot. WFT has not been great at drafting players in the past at the running back position, but they make sure they don’t mess it up this time. Washington runs to the podium to select the best all around running back in the 2021 NFL Draft. Harris can catch the ball out the backfield and is a true three down back. Washington strikes Gold with this pick, and at 19th overall they have a future Pro Bowler at RB!

Buffalo Bills trade out of the first round because the Broncos have their eyes set on a quarterback

The Buffalo Bills are sitting at pick 30 and there is still a quarterback on the board. The Denver Broncos wanted to land a quarterback early but miss out on the opportunity. They will not miss out on one again. John Elway calls up the Bills and trades up to the 30th pick to select Mac Jones from Alabama. The Broncos give up their second in 2021 and a 3rd in 2022 to land Mac Jones and to ensure he has the fifth year option. Bills end up taking Travis Etienne in round 2!
