Right now, people are not talking about you the way I feel they should. Do you feel you are an underdog?

  • I wouldn’t consider myself an underdog, but I’d definitely say I have a chip on my shoulder. My mindset is “Never be satisfied”, and I try to bring that fire in everything I do. I’m making it a point that I’ll be ready physically and mentally to contribute early wherever I end up.

What is one thing that NFL teams should know about you?

  • One thing that I emphasize to every team I talk to is how much I love the game. I love competing. I’d still play football even if the money wasn’t involved which says a lot. My love for the game is why I continue to work so hard and improve.

If you could donate to one cause in the world, what would it be?

  • I would donate to food drives to feed the impoverished.

Who was your childhood hero?

  • My father. Just watching the way he conducted his barbershop business and gracefully handled all social interaction was really admirable.

Who is the most underrated teammate in your locker room at your school?

  • Keldrick Carper, safety (#14) is easily the most underrated player on the A&M squad. He’s long (6’3), rangy, and super explosive. Most importantly, he’s got an insanely high IQ. He’s pretty much a coach on the field.

What is your biggest pet peeve?

  • Laziness is probably my biggest pet peeve.

Overcoming adversity is what defines character, what was the hardest moment in your life to overcome?

  • I would definitely say my ACL surgery in 2018 was the hardest moment for me. To go from playing the game at a high level, to barely being able to walk was really difficult. Despite how hard it was, I’m glad I was able to recover and come back stronger.

Tell me something about your school and why it is so special to you?

  • A&M is a really special place. Beyond it being the only SEC school in Texas, There’s a unique hospitality and family-like atmosphere. Now add in the top-tier education. It’s an amazing university to attend whether you’re an athlete or not.

What is your favorite snack food?

  • I’d say fruit would be my go to snack, Grapes specifically.

The NFL Draft is quickly approaching, If you could sell yourself in one sentence what would you say?

  • I have a rare combination of elite intelligence, athleticism, and a top-notch work ethic, with no character flags.

If you could compare your play to one player in the NFL who would it be?

  • I’d compare myself to Deion Jones. The combination of super high-end athleticism and intelligence. He’s a guy that can do it all whether it be matching up with RBs and TE’s in coverage or making plays in the backfield. I see myself as that type of player.

If you could have dinner with three people dead or alive, who would it be and why?

  • I would say, Ray Lewis, Kendrick Lamar, and the late great Jackie Robinson. Ray Lewis changed the way people view the Linebacker position and I’d love to pick his brain and just talk defense. Kendrick Lamar is one of the best rap artists of this generation, could shed light on his inspiration and the origin of his creativity. Lastly, I’d love to speak with Jackie Robinson about his resiliency in the face of ultimate adversity. I really believe speaking with these three greats would be profound for me.
