Predicting A Trade: Trent Brown To The Los Angeles Chargers For A 2021 Second And A 2022 Fourth
By: NFLHeads2020
Trent Brown is one of the better offensive tackles in the NFL, and he is currently being shopped.
The Chargers swung and missed HARD on Trai Turner, and are desperately in need of some offensive line help.
Why not send Trent Brown over to the Chargers, and get a pretty nice volly of picks in return?
Brown could be a building block on that line, and somebody that could help keep the young Justin Herbert safe.
Last year Trent Brown graded out at 68.9 overall, according to Pro Football Focus. That is better than any starter the Chargers roster. Starting right tackle Bryan Bulaga grades out at 61.6 overall which was the highest on the team.
The Chargers own the 13th overall pick, four spots ahead of division rival Raiders, but I doubt it takes that to get the deal knocked out.
Brown was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers to be their right tackle. He was then traded to the New England Patriots where he played left tackle for a year. After that year he hit free agency and signed with the Raiders. The Chargers at this point make the most sense and the Raiders would be crazy to turn down that offer.
Brown is a massive man. He stands at 6’8 and weighs 380 pounds. He has started in 60 career games, and would be a solid addition to the Chargers. The Chargers could then focus on Best Player Available in the 2021 NFL Draft. Maybe Micah Parsons falls to them and they can replace Denzel Perryman and kill two birds with one stone.
