Buffalo Bills need to add a veteran tight end like Kyle Rudolph to help the young Josh Allen

Kyle Rudolph Bills
Buffalo Bills need to get a veteran tight end and Kyle Rudolph would be a huge addition for the Bills. Rudolph wants to win, and the Bills won a lot last year.

The Buffalo Bills revived the career of Stefon Diggs when they traded for him last season. One of Diggs’ former teammates was just released by the Minnesota Vikings and I feel Kyle Rudolph could be a huge asset for the Buffalo Bills and Josh Allen.

The Buffalo Bills were heavily involved in the JJ Watt market, and the Bills and Brandon Beane are always looking for players who fit the culture. Kyle Rudolph is a Walter Payton Man of the Year. He buys in and today he was released by the Vikings.

The move saves Minnesota $5.1 million against the salary cap for 2021. Rudolph, 31, will become a free agent for the first time in his NFL career.

Yes, he is an older tight end, but he is still productive. Last year, Rudolph hauled in 28 receptions for 334 yards but only scored a touchdown once.

Last year, the Bills leading tight end was Dawson Knox. The Bills love him, but he is not Kyle Rudolph. Knox scored three touchdowns last year, but had less receptions and yards than Rudolph.

With the Bills going to a prodominately passing team, adding a veteran like Kyle Rudolph could revitalize his career. He has 4488 total receiving yards in his career and 48 touchdowns. Adding a veteran tight end like Rudolph could be huge for Allen’s development.

The Bills are going to draft a tight end or sign one via free agency, especially with Lee Smith expected to retire and Tyler Kroft is likely gone. So at this point, why not add a high character player like Rudolph? He fits the culture and he said today in his article he wants to win a ring.

The Bills are not far away, and adding a vet like Rudolph will definitely help them get closer.
