Predicting A Trade: Brandon Brooks To The Atlanta Falcons For Deion Jones And A Third Round Pick

Brandon Brooks trade Falcons trade proposal Deion Jones
Imagine if the Philadelphia Eagles could somehow land Deion Jones and a draft pick for Pro Bowl offensive guard Brandon Brooks?

A Brandon Brooks trade could be happening soon. Brooks is an All-Pro level guard, and the Falcons are one of the worst offensive lines in the NFL.

Additionally, the acquisition of Deion Jones could negate the need to use an early draft pick on a linebacker, which they desperately need. They can now use this pick to focus on getting some help for Jalen Hurts, who is currently throwing to a group of clowns.

The Falcons would be hurt by the loss of Jones, but Foye Oloukon and Mykal Walker are really coming along as studs so I do not know that it would hurt as much as people expect.

Brooks did miss all of last season with an injury but was practicing towards the end of the year.

According to Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated, the Eagles have discussed trading the Pro-Bowl OL Brandon Brooks.

“Eagles G Brandon Brooks: Among the NFL’s best guards before he got hurt, a torn Achilles cost him the 2020 season. But he was healthy enough to practice before the end of the year, and the 31-year-old is under contract the next four years for a reasonable $53.2 million, and just $10.5 million this year. There have been trade discussions here.”

If the Eagles can somehow land Deion Jones it would be a steal. Last season the Atlanta Falcons linebacker racked up 73 tackles and 4.5 sacks. The 26 year old New Orleans, Louisiana will be looking for a large pay day soon, but if the Eagles can somehow have a younger Mychal Walker fill in for him, they could end up filling the void, and adding depth on the Offensive Line.

Brandon Brooks has started in 112 games in his career, and would be an immediate upgrade on the Falcons offensive line.
