Omarea James is a pretty solid football player for Trinity Catholic High School in Ocala, Florida. James becomes the third high school football player shot from Ocala and the second from Trinity Catholic.
Back in July, Trinity Catholic football player Kyrion Weathers was shot and killed and just a month and a half ago, Chris Chevelon Jr from Vanguard another school in Ocala, Florida was shot and killed at an apartment complex.
Ocala is just 20 minutes from my house, and this violence against our youth has to stop. There is so much talent, and they continue to turn to violence.
According to a GoFundMe page set up for James, On the evening of January 31st, 2021, Omarea was leaving his local gas station and headed home to his Ocala residence. As he was entering his subdivision, a car pulled beside him and shot at him 3 times: 2 missing, but a third piercing his side and becoming lodged in his spine. Omarea is currently getting treatment in a Neuro ICU and has a long recovery process ahead of him.
Omarea James was a stud for Trinity Catholic and made some impressive plays in his senior season this year.
We ask that you continue to pray for Omarea, and his family. Get well young man, this has to stop.
