James Bryant the elusive WR from Western State is hoping to follow in the footsteps of Austin Ekeler joining him as the second player in the league from Western State.

Today NFLHeads had the opportunity to interview WR James Bryant. Bryant was an absolute delight to talk to. Bryant is very committed to football, and his excellence will shine through in the following interview. NFL teams, come listen up!

What to you is the most passionate part of football for you?

Bryant talked about his passion and love for the game. He said that his whole life has led up to this, and that there is no plan B or C. Football is Plan A and he is hyper committed to putting in the work to succeed.

What do you think sets you apart from other Receivers in the draft?

Bryant talked about his playmaking ability, his sure hands, and his eagerness to learn the playbook and learn receiver routes and defensive routes. Bryant has a constant desire to learn more and always be better at his job.

Was there an NFL athlete you have looked up to in your career?

When Bryant was young he looked up to Randy Moss, but in later years he has admired Jarvis Landry and Keenan Allen because they have a very similar build to Bryant and they are very polished in the way that they play.

Is there a teammate or coach that has made a lasting impact on your career?

Bryant’s high school coach Donnie Davis gave Bryant his drive and really showed him the mentality he should have for football, and was his football father figure.

If you have your choice of which NFL team you could play for who would it be?

Bryant said he would be ecstatic to play for any NFL team, but that growing up he watched the Pittsburgh Steelers play so it would be particularly fun to play for them.

What specific role do you see yourself in on an NFL team?

Bryant sees himself as being someone who can work in the slot and as someone who can be counted on to have sure hands. 

What is the most important part of being a player to you?

Bryant emphasized that putting the team first was the most important thing to him, there is no way a team can succeed unless everybody has bought in and is playing their hardest. Bryant also talked about being the 1/11th on the field, in other words doing your specific job, and doing it as well as possible.

What was the most impactful game you have ever played in?

Bryant talked about a game in his senior year of high school. His team was down by 20 or 30 points in the second half and they were getting absolutely destroyed. Bryant talked about while some of his teammates had given up, he and a few others were still fully committed and talking trash and playing their hardest. Bryant said this is what separates those who are committed to the game and have a passion for it, and those who are just watching from the side

What do you want your football legacy to be?

Bryant wants to be remembered as someone who persevered and fought until the very end. He wants to be known as the hardest worker on the field, and someone who can be relied upon to commit to excellence.
