2021 NFL Draft Prospect Interview: Dio Williams, CB, Arkansas Tech University

Dio Williams is a long and physical cornerback from Arkansas Tech University who looks like a steal for NFL teams.

What is the best restaurant in your hometown city?

-In my opinion the best restaurant in my town has to be LSA burger.

When breaking down your film what will stick out?

-When you break down my film I believe the combination of technique, discipline, and length will stick out. I also think my IQ for the game will pop out.

What has been your biggest failure?

-I believe my biggest failure was when I did not make a certain score on my SAT test. I was really aiming for a certain score and wasn’t able to get it. Even though I could take it again  I believe that was my biggest failure.

What do your teammates say is your best quality?

-I think my teammates would say that my work ethic on and on off the field is my best quality.

Who is the hardest working teammate on your team?

-My hardest working teammate has to be my twin brother. He’s been there with me through it all and I’ve gotten to see firsthand on the work he puts in every day.

Have you ever had a nickname? What is it?

-To be honest, I’ve never had a nickname before. So I can’t really speak on that.

What is your degree in, if you do not make it as a football player, what is your dream job?

-My degree is in business marketing and administration. If I did not make it as a football player my dream job would be to own and run a facility as a family business. which would be a sports and performance facility.

 What is your coolest life moment?

-I would have to say that my coolest life moment was when I went sky diving four years ago. I never experience anything like that before. 

What song would you sing at Karaoke night?

-If I had to sing a song on karaoke night I would have to choose “so sick” by Ne-yo. Because I know that song in and out. I’ve been listening to it for over ten years!

If you could pick any actor to play you in a movie, who are you picking?

-If I could pick any actor to play in a movie it would have to be Ice Cube. I like the action he brings to the movie. 

Who is your favorite football team?

-Being from DFW my favorite football team is most definitely the cowboys. Even though everyone hates them.

If you had a warning label, what would yours say?

-If I had a warning label mine would say “caution”.

What is your biggest fear?

-My biggest fear would have to be heights. I never have loved heights and always have been scared of them.

Who is the most underrated player in the NFL?

-The most underrated player to me was J.C. Jackson from the New England Patriots. A lot of people don’t give him enough credit, but he was one of the most productive this year.

Do you have any hobbies?

-Yes I have hobbies. I love to cook all the time. If I’m not training, I’m usually finding new things to try and cook. 

If you had to compare yourself to someone in the NFL, who would that be?

-If I had to compare myself to someone it would have to be Richard Sherman. I’ve always tried to alter my game after his. The way he uses his length and technique is second to none. He also has a very high IQ for the game as well.

Who has been the biggest influence on your life and explain why?

-The biggest influence on my life has to be my father. Without him I wouldn’t even be in college playing today. He taught me how to work hard and that nothing is given to you.

What motivates you to work hard?

-The things that motivate me to work hard is growing up how I did and see what my parents went through to provide for us every single day. When I work all I think about is going harder because I’ve seen what they went through and want better for them and to not have to stress about things. I don’t really need any more motivation than that.
