2021 NFL Draft Prospect: Richard LeCounte, S, University of Georgia
Richard LeCounte is one of a few defensive players who turned down an opportunity to enter the 2020 NFL Draft at the end of last season.
He’s almost certainly in his final year with the program and if the injury keeps him from playing for the rest of the year, he has played his last snap in a Bulldog uniform.
LeCounte has played in 43 career games, and has racked up 176 tackles including 6.5 tackles for loss and has 8 career interceptions. This year he has three interceptions, and 7 deflected passes.
In the last two years, LeCounte has been a ball hawk in the secondary for the Bulldogs picking off 7 of his career 8 interceptions.
When it comes to laying a big hit, LeCounte is no joke. He will crush you and make you pay. Ask Chase Claypool the former Notre Dame wide out. LeCounte rocked him and made him pay for catching a ball across the middle of the field.
LeCounte will be drafted in 2021, he is a fun player to watch.
NFL Draft Diamonds Scouting Notes
You have to love Richard LeCounte. He is a a brick layer. The 5’11 safety plays like he is 6’4. He hits so hard when coming down field. The Bulldogs struck gold on him. He has been a stud for them since his freshman year. in the past couple years, he has turned into a very good ball hawk as well. LeCounte is definitely a top 4 safety in the draft. He has tons of upside. – Damond Talbot, NFL Draft Diamonds Owner
