Fantasy Injury Updates: Josh Jacobs, D.J. Moore, Daniel Jones, and Phillip Lindsay

Fantasy Injury Updates Josh Jacobs, D.J. Moore, Daniel Jones, and Phillip Lindsay
Fantasy Football Injury Updates: Will Josh Jacobs, D.J. Moore, Phillip Lindsay or Daniel Jones return this year? Find out

There were some huge injuries in week 12, and our friends at the Fantasy Doctors provide some injury updates to several players, but we wanted to update you on some of the things heard around the league on four major impact players to your fantasy football rosters.

This is playoff week, you need to stay on top of your rosters because it has major playoff implications for your fantasy team moving forward.

What are we learning though about Josh Jacobs?

This week Josh Jacobs the Raiders running back suffered an ankle sprain, but the good news is he did not break anything. We have watched the star back grow in front of our eyes this year, but if he cannot go it will be a huge loss to many Fantasy rosters. Jacobs will be playing the Jets this week so if he can go it would be huge for fantasy owners.

Jon Gruden was asked if there was any concern about Jacobs’ injury and he said “Obviously there is.” That is not a very good sign, but if it is not a high ankle sprain he could tape it up and go. Right now the Raiders are 6-5 and are in second place in the AFC West behind only the Chiefs. They are still technically in the hunt, so getting back Jacobs would be huge.

Could Phillip Lindsay return Week 13?

Jacobs was not the only significant injury to a running back. Phillip Lindsay also suffered a knee injury and did not return to action week 12. Lindsay’s knee injury happened in the second half in their loss to the Saints. Lindsay unfortunately will be getting a second opinion on his knee, according to Mike Klis of 9News in Denver.

With Lindsay getting a second opinion, it is more than likely he will miss some time. Think about it, you do not get a second opinion if you liked the first one. With that being said Melvin Gordon will be the main man in Denver moving forward until we get the MRI results on Lindsay.

Will the Giants will have to turn to Colt McCoy now?

Giants are on a three game winning streak right now, and have taken themselves out of the top five in the 2021 NFL Draft. Joe Judge has the team working in the right direction, but they will have to continue their fight to win the division with a different quarterback.

Daniel Jones suffered a hamstring injury against the Bengals in the third quarter but did return for a few plays. After limping off the field though, he was seen on the sidelines encouraging his teammates until the end of the game.

Giants head coach feels optimistic about Jones, but if the team does in fact take caution, the Giants would have to turn to veteran QB Colt McCoy. McCoy has not started a game since 2014.

D.J. Moore‘s X-rays came back negative!!!

There is some good news on D.J. Moore! Matt Rhule will not rule out the star wide receiver D.J. Moore who suffered an ankle injury in week 12. The Panthers have a bye this week which would give Moore time to rest.

His status is still unclear, but this is great news. You may still need to find a replacement for your week 13 game with Moore being out on a bye, but if he can go in week 14 that is most playoffs/finals in fantasy football. D.J. Moore has been a beast this year, so this injury could have huge implications.
