Talk about your experience as a student. What is your major/minor? Did you participate in any other activities or campus organizations other than football?
I have a double major in Business Administration and Biology as well as a minor in Chemistry. I also plan on pursuing medical school in the future. Last year I was the Vice President of DECA which is a business leadership club. I’ve also been the Vice President of the Board of Student Athletes.

What do your teammates say is your best quality?
They would say that I’m a hard worker. I put in my work every day and never miss a practice or lift. I dedicate a lot of my time to perfecting myself as a player.

What kind of role do you see yourself in on the team? What scheme and/or position suits your skill set?
I definitely see myself as a leader of the team being the QB. I am a vocal leader and like being heard. I believe communication is important. As for schemes, I run an R.P.O. spread style system. I’ve had 3 different Offensive Coordinators and learned different offenses during my time at Mayville.

Who is the best player you have ever played against in college?
When I was a freshman, I remember playing Curt Boeke who was an edge rusher at Dakota State. He was a menace always creating pressure and causing problems for offenses.

There was also a cornerback at Dickinson State named Jay Liggins. He had a brief stint with the Philadelphia Eagles. He was a tall strong corner who had the ability to lockdown his side of the field. He did a good job covering our top receiver.

Which one of your teammates impresses you the most?
Preston Hamlette was one of the hardest workers that I’ve seen. He played both RB and LB. He was a good mentor to me. He’s currently playing in a pro rugby league in Australia.

Describe a time in your life when you were able to overcome a struggle.
I have battled through injuries during my career including a broken foot and a concussion. I broke my foot as a freshman, and I got to see what a podiatrist could do. It really inspired me to pursue a degree in Biology and hopefully one day get my doctorate.

If you didn’t play football, what other sport would you play?
I’ve actually played 3 years of basketball here at Mayville, mainly at power forward. We were able to go from being last in the conference to being conference champions and playing in the National Tournament. Basketball really helped my conditioning as an athlete because you’re constantly running the court.

What is something that you are most proud of? What would you say is your biggest achievement?
I was named 2nd Team All Conference in 2019. Although, I think my biggest achievement has been my academics. I know that getting my degree will set me up for future success.

Describe one of the most memorable plays of your collegiate career.
It was my first game as a freshman against Buena Vista. I came into Mayville playing basketball and hadn’t played football since the previous Fall. I remember going out on one of my first plays and running for a 10 yard gain. That helped my confidence level. I must have thrown the ball about 50 times in that game which is probably the most I’ve ever thrown because we had a fairly run heavy offense in high school.

Do you have a favorite athlete or professional team? Is there a player that you model your game after?
Being from North Dakota, I’ve been a Vikings fan. One of my favorite players of all time is Brett Farve. I always wanted to be like him.

Who is your favorite music artist? What gets you pumped before a game?
Mac Miller is one of my favorite music artists. I really don’t listen to much music before a game other than what’s playing on the speakers. I’m trying to keep a level head and maybe watch a little bit of film before we start the game.

What is your favorite comfort food?
Every Christmas my family makes Stromboli. My grandparents bring me that after almost every football game.

Do you have a favorite movie, TV show or actor?
The Office is my favorite TV show. Will Farrell is one of my favorite actors. His movie Step Brothers is one that I really like.

What do you do in your spare time? Do you have any hobbies? Any secret talents?
I’ll play pickup basketball whenever I have time. I have 2 jobs right now. One is an ambulance driver and the other is a research assistant in the biology lab.

Who or what motivates you the most?
My family, specifically my dad. He’s been a mentor and a hero for me. He played at Dickinson State and originally got me into sports.
