Police released Body Cam Footage of NFL player involved police shooting

Ekom Udofia Bengals NFL Stanford Mental health killed
Ekom Udofia the former Bengals defensive tackle was receiving treatment for a mental health condition, when he was shot and killed by police last month.

The Phoenix Police Department released body-camera video that shows officers shooting and killing a former NFL player who was armed with BB gun and likely on drugs. According to the video released, Ekom Udofia a former NFL player and standout at Stanford was shot and killed by police officers after pulling a BB Gun on them.

The case started when a 911 caller told the police that Udofia was jumping on moving cars when they were trying to drive by him in Arizona. Udofia looked to be high on drugs according to the reports, and the caller.

The Police arrived and Udofia continued to walk at the officers with the gun in his hand. The Officers begged with him to drop the weapon, and he would not do so. He continued to walk closer until he was shot numerous times.

After being shot Udofia did not let go of the gun. He held it and would eventually be shot several other times when he tried to raise the gun again at the officers.

“Please! Please! Do not make me shoot you!” said another officer. “I’ve got to shoot him, bro!” “C’mon man! Don’t make me shoot you again!” said an officer.

Udofia was born in Scottsdale and played football at Stanford University before going to the NFL and playing for the New Orleans Saints. He also had a short stint with the Bengals. Please keep his family in your prayers during this tough time.
