2021 NFL Draft Prospect: Shaun Wade, CB, Ohio State University

Shaun Wade
Ohio State defensive back Shaun Wade is projected as a first round pick. He is not being thrown at much this year, teams are smart.

Ohio State cornerback Shaun Wade decided to come back to Columbus, Ohio and play his fourth year rather than declaring for the 2020 NFL Draft.

The 6’1 cornerback was a five star prospect from Jacksonville, Florida had a huge season last year playing nickel corner for the Buckeyes between Damon Arnette and Jeffrey Okudah who were both first round picks last year.

Wade picked off his first pass against Indiana as an outside cornerback. Wade is a big corner that everyone believes will be a first round pick. Several draftniks are saying that Wade’s stock is dropping, because he lacks physicality as an outside corner.

Well, most NFL teams run zone coverage, which Wade excels. Wade is a great open field tackler and has been impressive in the slot. Wade’s draft stock is not dropping, people need to stop.

Wade is a top prospect right now who came back to play. NFL scouts love it. Wade is a great kid too. He is doing many things off the field to help children and schools. The young man is going to be fine.

In his career he has 70 tackles, 4 tackles for loss and 5 interceptions. He has also caused 3 forced fumbles.

NFL Draft Diamonds Scouting Notes

Many people are dogging Shaun Wade on the internet because his production is not as high as it was last season. Wade is playing outside this year, which is a lot different than the slot which he played last season. He has already matched his interception total last year with 1, and scored a touchdown when the ball was in his hands. Wade is a big corner who excels in zone coverage. Many teams will want that come April. – Damond Talbot, NFL Draft Diamonds Owner
