David Moore Seahawks Draft
David Moore has turned into one of the more reliable wide receivers on the Seahawks roster. The former small school standout has really turned into a solid pro.

Through eight weeks of the NFL season, the Seattle Seahawks, have been an offensive juggernaut. Posting an impressive 6-1 record (the one loss coming against division rival Arizona Cardinals), and putting up ridiculous numbers, while doing so. While the team has struggled a bit on defense, the move for all-pro DE Carlos Dunlap, along with a healthy Jamaal Adams, Rasheem Green, and Jordyn Brooks, will make a huge difference. The one thing that has stood out about this Seahawks, team, is the use and success of rookie and second year players. The fusion of youth with QB Russell Wilson, playing his best football of his career, has made the Hawks’ a scary team to deal with. With this article, I decided to give some love to three young players, that have and can make all the difference for Seattle, now and in the future.

1) DE Alton Robinson

While watching the 2020 NFL Draft, I couldn’t help but pound the table for the former Syracuse, product. Color me shocked, that he fell to the 5th round, helping make a good team even better. Although he hasn’t been a main stay (YET), Robinson has the skill set, to be a legit star in the Emerald city. Through 7 games, in limited game play, the 6’3 265 LB, pass rusher, has 2 sacks, and a hand full of QB pressures. The thing that stands out about the rookie, is his willingness to do the dirty things. Sacrificing his play, to help others around him, shine. He is a stud in the run game, as he has shines setting the edge, and has made Quarterbacks, gamedays, nightmares at times. Given time, the late round rookie, could end up being a complete steal, for Pete Carroll, and company. Look for him to continue to make strides.

2) OG Damien Lewis

Damien Lewis, is a man amongst boys at times. Watching the tape you see a young man, who is truly coming into himself, as he churns out good game after good game. A complete monster on the offensive line, Lewis, looks nothing like a rookie, and has been a true bright spot. The Seahawks, have had offensive line issues for years, as they seemed to get the draft choices wrong one after another. Lewis, has been the opposite. Solid as a pass blocker, he has been able to hold his own, and leave marks on defenders. In the run game, he has been a bulldozer. Clearing lanes for whatever back, falls behind him. I don’t like to crown a rookie the real deal, so early, but Lewis is special, he has the look of a perennial pro-bowler, for years to come. Congratulations Seattle, you finally hit on this one.

3) WR David Moore

Drafted in the seventh round, in 2017, Moore, had become a sort of after thought, for some. Not the Hawks, as they kept the East Central, kid around, even when they had seemingly better options. Needless to say, Moore, has paid the front office back for their belief in him. To say Moore, has come into his own in 2020, would be an understatement. Honestly if it wasn’t for superstar WR DK Metcalf, and all-pro everything, Tyler Lockett, we might be talking about Moore, as one of the biggest surprises, in the league. A big play waiting to happen, He has the skill, and tools, to go deep, or do the dirty work over the middle. He is an excellent blocker (except for his one mistake in Arizona), and loves to play physical. Watching him play, it is obvious why he was so coveted after last season, as teams looked to trade for him. As the year goes on, look for the young star, to get more and more opportunities, as teams look to stop this Seattle passing attack. Moore, could end up being a legit number 2 WR, when it is all said and done.
