Jaguars should send a top 40 draft pick to the Jets for Sam Darnold

Sam Darnold getting traded to the Jets makes the most sense. Imagine if the Jaguars could land Sam Darnold for their late first round pick in 2021?

The New York Jets are not going to lose the top spot. At this point, the Jaguars are on their heels, but if the Jets do in fact hold the top spot, they have to take Trevor Lawrence right?

At this point, the Jets are going to be forced to move on from Sam Darnold. The Jaguars though are in a pretty spot. They Jaguars have the 2nd pick, and they have the 22nd pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. The Jets also have two picks in the NFL Draft, but they are going to want to get as much as they can in return for Darnold.

I came up with this scenario because I feel deep down inside both teams and players could win. The Jaguars need consistent play from their quarterback. This allows them to keep the #2 pick in the draft and get the best offensive tackle in the draft.

If the Jaguars could walk away from the 2021 NFL Draft with Penei Sewell and Sam Darnold would that be winning? I think the Jaguars would have to be happy with that. The Jaguars will need to take a quarterback and I think at the end of the day it would be a huge success for the Jaguars.

Then imagine if the Jets could land Trevor Lawrence at 1, DeVonta Smith at 22, and Alex Leatherwood at 25? I mean that would be a huge improvement on that offense. Both teams would strike Gold and walk away pretty. I think the Jaguars must explore this option.

I mean teams may not even offer up a first rounder for Darnold. So if the Jaguars could offer up their second round pick and keep their two firsts that would be even a bigger win.
