2021 NFL Draft Prospect: Pat Freiermuth, TE, Penn State University
Gronkowski, Kittle, Kelce, Ertz, all of these tight ends are household names. If you mention any one of them to a football fan, everyone knows of them. The next tight end that everyone is going to remember is Pat Freiermuth. I am monster fan of Kyle Pitts from Florida, and I have called him the top tight end prospect in the draft, but Pat Freiermuth is going to be a stud for many years to come.
Freiermuth has been tearing it up since his freshman year at Penn State. The Merrimac, Massachusetts native stands at 6’5 and weights 260 pounds. He is one of the best pure pass catching tight ends to come out of the NFL Draft in years.
Many people were in love with Noah Fant, and TJ Hockenson and I honestly feel they would be behind Freiermuth if they were all in the same draft.
He was tied for 9th All-Time at Penn State with 15 career touchdowns heading into the season. He was also tied for first place at the tight end position for touchdowns scored. He was tied with Gesicki before entering the season.
This year he moved to 8th All-Time and passed Gesicki after scoring a touchdown in his first game against Indiana. On the year so far, Freiermuth has hauled in 23 receptions for 310 yards and scored only 1 touchdown (against Indiana).
When you watch this kids film you see Gronk. A younger Gronk without the attitude. He just catches the ball and moves the chains. I think he will end up being a first round pick after the Combine.
NFL Draft Diamonds Scouting Notes
If this kid falls to the Buffalo Bills, I will be the biggest and happiest football fan ever. Pat Freiermuth is going to be a superstar at the next level. I think he will be in contention for rookie of the year next year. He is going to be a problem for linebackers and safeties. He high points the ball well, and is positions himself well around the ball. He is a stud, and I think he will be a Pro-Bowler for years to come. – Damond Talbot, NFL Draft Diamonds, Owner
