2021 NFL Draft Prospect: Nico Collins, WR, University of Michigan
Nico Collins is a big boy and reminds me of Kenny Golladay of the Lions. I watched Golladay in college at NIU as well as North Dakota, and he was doing the same thing to cornerbacks as Nico Collins is right now at Michigan.
Nico Collins is a 6’4 wide receiver from Birmingham, Alabama and I am not sure how the hell he got out the state with Alabama down the road. Nico Collins has been a dog for Michigan, and he has his eyes set on the NFL.
The playmaking wide receiver decided to forgo his senior year and declare for the NFL Draft about 2 months ago.
He finished his career with the Wolverines, hauling in 78 receptions for 1,388 yards and 13 touchdowns. Many of his touchdowns were in the opposing teams redzone. Collins has a knack for going up to high point the ball.
Collins may not be the fastest wide receiver on the field, but he is hard to cover. He is such a big body and has strong hands. He has proven that week in and week out for Michigan.
I like to think of Nico Collins as a bully. He bullies defenders and he seems to always win!
NFL Draft Diamonds Scouting Notes
Michigan wide receiver Nico Collins is a bully to little defensive backs. The 6’4 receiver uses his body right. When you are that big you need to bully people and get the ball. Collins will help many players around him make money at the next level. I feel he will be a big time touchdown machine at the next level. A red-zone threat that can punish a defense in the red zone. – Damond Talbot, NFL Draft Diamonds Owner
