2021 NFL Draft Prospect: Kawaan Baker, WR, University of South Alabama

Kawaan Baker South Alabama 2021 NFL Draft
South Alabama wide receiver Kawaan Baker has been playing lights out in 2020. The Sun Belt has some players keep an eye on #15.

The Sun Belt Conference is one of the most overlooked conferences in college football, and there are some great players in the conference. This year, I have had the pleasure to watch quite a bit of their games and one player that has really been impressive is Kawaan Baker the wide receiver from South Alabama.

The USA wide out had the best game of his career against the University of Louisiana Monroe earlier this year. That was one of the first games I was able to watch Baker. The 6’1, pass catcher from Atlanta, Georgia went ham catching 6 balls for 154 yards and three, YES 3 touchdowns. The 80 yard reception was amazing, the kid has some wheels.

Over his career at South Alabama he hauled in 75 receptions for 1,170 yards and scored 8 times before entering his senior season.

This year he has already caught 41 balls for 571 yards and 7 touchdowns in just 8 games. They still have three more games left. Keep an eye on Baker especially against Arkansas State who have struggled this year at stopping opposing wide receivers.

NFL Draft Diamonds Scouting Notes

Kawaan Baker is a 6’1 wide receiver that weighs around 215 pounds, but he is elusive with the ball in his hands. Baker has been impressive throughout his career for the Jaguars. I think he has to be on some NFL teams radars. He has been having a great senior season. With 15 career touchdowns now, and over 1700 yards receiving, Baker is forcing you to watch his film. I like the kid! – Damond Talbot, NFL Draft Diamonds, Owner
