Three teams that could use the veteran leadership of Johnathan Joseph

Johnathan Joseph Veteran
Former Titans cornerback Johnathan Joseph was released yesterday by the Titans but there are still several teams that could take interest in Joseph. Let’s look.

Johnathan Joseph is not young. The guy is two years younger than me, which is old. The 36 year old cornerback from Rock Hill, South Carolina was recently released by the Tennessee Titans, but his veteran leadership could be huge for a team.

Joseph was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the first round of the 2006 NFL Draft. He was also a member of the Houston Texans for nine seasons.

Joseph has had a real solid career. He has 754 career tackles, and has registered 31 career interceptions. Joseph is still a solid veteran, so let’s look at three teams that could use his services right now.

Carolina Panthers – The Panthers are super young right now at the cornerback position. Adding a player like Joseph who is from South Carolina would be a great addition. Since Joseph was paid already by the Titans, this would be a cheap one year deal but he could come in and help young players like Donte Jackson.

Houston Texans – A reunion? Why not? The Texans could definitely use a player like Joseph. Joseph loved his time in Houston and was a leader in their locker room. For a cheap deal I do not see it being a bad addition. Joseph is a gamer and while he is struggling a bit he is not going to be a starter, but he can help the younger players.

Kansas City Chiefs – Why not add a veteran like Joseph? The Chiefs corners seem to be an issue every year. Here is an option for them to sign a veteran player who can come in later in the season and help the Chiefs. If he sees something wrong he can help correct the mistake. The Chiefs are going to make a push.
