Sioux Falls Storm Player, John Williams, Has Much To Be Thankful For.

(Houston, TX) Next Spring, football free agent, John Williams, will prepare to leave his hometown of Spring to report to his new team in Sioux Falls, SD. During his preparation, John has had time to reflect on this past year, how it has affected his professional football career, our nation as a whole, and realizes he has so much to be thankful for.

Williams hit hard times when COVID struck, robbing him of any immediate football opportunities that might have been on the horizon. He kept his head down though, kept training and working side by side with his agent, as they went on the hunt for his next football home. When all seemed to be lost, their prayers were answered with a call from the coaches at Sioux Falls Storm in South Dakota.

The team was eager to sign the 6’3”, 275lbs gentle giant, and thus began a new round of blessings. With the immediate pressure of a pro contract off his shoulders, John said he has so many things that he already had to be thankful for, but this one signed contract in the bag was a chart-topper. As we move into the holiday season, Williams said that this year, even though chaotic at times, has made him see the value in the little things. He is grateful for the love, support, and health of his family, and the ability to be with them this upcoming holiday season.

Williams has always been in-tune with his own personal gratitude and has always been thankful for everything that has come to him in life. When asked how he feels thankfulness has developed for him over the course of his career, he said,

“I think I work harder for what I want to achieve now. A lot of people wish they can be in the position I’m in, so I don’t take any opportunity for granted.”

With Thanksgiving quickly approaching, we asked John what he is most thankful for this year.

“My family and football,” he quickly replied.

He will be spending the holidays with his family, doing what he loves most- watching football and eating his mom’s home cooking. Rest assured John Williams will be soaking it all up before he embarks on his next journey in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
