Jets GM Joe Douglas maybe the problem in New York, what did he just say?

Who is really to blame for the Jets mishaps? Joe Douglas will not hold his head coach accountable. Could it end up costing him his job?

The New York Jets are 0-8, and Joe Douglas is handing out tons of praises. First the Jets GM gave Sam Darnold a vote of confidence, which I can agree with with. Darnold is a good quarterback he is just not being used correctly.

“I feel like he has a different set of wide receivers every week,” Douglas said, via NFL Media. “I think you see the flashes of what he can be, and they’re really special. Let’s not forget that Sam’s a 23-year-old quarterback that is maybe one of the toughest quarterbacks I’ve ever been around. I’m very excited about Sam. I have no problem saying that he is our best quarterback and our quarterback for the future.”

The Jets GM then went on to praise Adam Gase. Yes, he praised Adam Gase.

“My mind hasn’t even gone there on that scenario,” when Douglas was asked about replacing his head coach. “My focus is helping Adam solve the problem and work together to do it. Obviously, I think we’re all confident in our abilities, but I’m focused to solve these problems with Adam.”

Joe Douglas then claims that the problem is him and not all on Adam Gase.

“This is not all on Adam,” Douglas said, via Ralph Vacchiano of SNY. “I have to do a better job of surrounding him with better players and better weapons. We’re in this together. I’m thinking of everything I can do to try to help Adam. The goal is to get this fixed together.”

At his point, they are all to be blamed. The Jets need a new coach, and they need it soon for their fanbase. Their fanbase deserves better. This is a train wreck right now. I cannot believe Joe Douglas, I thought he was going to run it with an iron fist. Pretty wild.
