In football there is fast and then there is stupid fast. D’Wayne Eskridge falls into that stupid fast category. He blazed a 4.33 forty yard dash (laser) in 2018, and when you watch his film you can easily see why the Broncos allow him to play all three phases of the game.
Yes, you read that correctly, Eskridge is a big time wide receiver prospect, but also is a cornerback for the WMU defense.
Eskridge is a little guy, he is 5’9 and weighs only 190 pounds, but he is so versatile and athletic that a team is going to fall in love with him. He had to rebound after suffering a season ending injury in 2019, but has rebounded quite well for the Broncos in 2020.
This year Eskridge cannot be stopped. He has 14 receptions this year. Yes, 14 receptions, but get this, he has 457 yards receiving. He tore up Central Michigan so bad last week, hitting 212 yards and 3 touchdowns on just four receptions. Eskridge needs to be talked about more.
This past week the Senior Bowl invited Eskridge to the event. Eskridge is going to make a name for himself like Deebo Samuel. Eskridge has great hands and is so elusive. NFL teams are going to see his toughness and willingness to play wherever and they are going to fall in love with him.
NFL Draft Diamonds Scouting Notes
It is hard to find a player that is willing to play his position as well as Special Teams. With Eskridge willing to play both cornerback and wide receiver for the Broncos, you have to think NFL teams will see this and love his toughness. Eskridge is a lunch-pal player. He is going to come into work and work. He is not like your co-worker that complains about having to do something. Eskridge is a go-getter and that is going to help him succeed at the highest level. – Damond Talbot, NFL Draft Diamonds Owner
