2021 NFL Draft Prospect: Amari Rodgers, WR, Clemson
The Knoxville, Tennessee native earned a starting role at Clemson in 2018 as both a return man and a wide receiver. He entered this season with 104 career receptions, 1,124 yards with 8 receiving touchdowns. He is a beast as a punt returner as well. Entering the season he had 59 career punt returns for 465 yards with one touchdown.
Rodgers is killing it this year. He has 48 receptions in 2020 already, and has 720 yards and six touchdowns. He is currently averaging 90 yards receiving per games.
Rodger was a top 100 prospect in the entire country coming out of high school. He played in the Under Armour All-American Game in Orlando, Florida and was the 4th best player out of the state of Tennessee.
How did the Vols miss on him? That is a great question, because he was an animal in high school. He finished with 3,498 receiving yards and 47 touchdowns.
Rodgers is one of only five Clemson players since 2000 to record touchdowns by rush, reception and punt return in a career. He is getting drafted in 2021, so keep an eye on him.
NFL Draft Diamonds Scouting Notes
Amari Rodgers is turning into a top tier prospect in the NFL Draft. The 5’10 wide receiver has great hands and is one of the best wide outs in the NCAA right now. It helps to have a player like Trevor Lawrence at quarterback, but Rodgers is dominating right now. I love Rodgers as a prospect, and I would not be shocked to see him go top 40 in the NFL Draft. – Damond Talbot, Owner, NFL Draft Diamonds
