Fantasy Football: Week 8 Waiver Wire Report

Rashard Higgins Fantasy Sleepers
Cleveland Browns wide receiver Rashard Higgins is a player that you may want to pick up with Odell Beckham Jr. going down to injury.

By Craig Forrestal

Heading into Week 8 this is one of the most important Waiver Wire weeks of the season. We have byes, we have identified which of our players have busted and we now we know where our team is weak. So through the waiver wire, we can continue the climb this week! Maybe you’ve finally rebounded and are sitting at 3-4 or maybe you’re approaching fire sale territory as a winless team and are looking for some options to round out the roster. Either way, we got you covered with the NFL Draft Diamonds Waiver Wire Report!

Week 8 Waiver Wire Report

  • JaMycal Hasty/ RB/ San Francisco 49ers: Hasty was mentioned in the report last week and finds himself here again because Jeff Wilson went down with an injury. The 49ers are all banged up at the RB position and Hasty has shown the ability to produce in a few small samples this season. The burst that Hasty showed against New England is something the 49ers will need moving forward. Considering how Kyle Shanahan has mentioned he needs to monitor Jerick McKinnon that sets Hasty up for more work. Maybe Tevin Coleman comes back maybe he doesn’t this week but either way Hasty should stay involved. Next 3: @ Seahawks, Packers and @ Saints
  • Carlos Hyde/ RB/ Seattle Seahawks: Chris Carson totaled only 6 touches on Sunday night before leaving the game with a mid-foot sprain. In his absence, Carlos Hyde ran for 68 yards on 15 carries and added 3 receptions for 8 yards. The cherry-on-top was the rushing TD. Hyde will leave the passing work to Travis Homer and/or DeeJay Dallas. But please monitor Hyde and his hamstring injury. Next 3: 49ers, @ Bills and @ Rams
  • Rashard Higgins/ WR/ Cleveland Browns: Odell Beckham went down with a season-ending knee injury opening the door for someone to emerge in the Cleveland offense. Rashard Higgins caught 6 balls for 110 yards and 1 TD. Next up is the Raiders and their defense allowing 283.8 passing yards per game. Higgins should be considered a WR3/FLEX play as he establishes himself as an every-down WR over the next few weeks. Next 3: Raiders, Bye and Texans
  • Nelson Agholor/ WR/ Las Vegas Raiders: Agholor has scored in 3 consecutive games. Against Tampa, he saw 9 targets for 5 catches and 107 yards with 1 TD. Say what you want about the up-and-down Agholor but he is arguably the Raiders WR1. Derek Carr is ripping it right now and Agholor is establishing himself as Darren Waller’s co-star. Next 3: @ Browns, @ Chargers and Broncos
  • Derek Carr/ QB/ Las Vegas Raiders: Carr keeps playing well, and he’s now tallied 13 TDs to just 2 INTs through 6 games while averaging nearly 300 passing yards per game. His schedule becomes very friendly over the next few weeks for those of you in need at the QB position. Next 3: @ Browns, @ Chargers and Broncos
  • La’Mical Perine/ RB/ NY Jets: He played 70% of snaps last week and scored a TD. While 13 touches in the Jets offense isn’t ideal it is hard to ignore his usage arrow on a continuous upswing. The Jets are winless and now would be the time to start the extended evaluation process for Perine. Next 3: @ Chiefs, Patriots and Bye
  • DeeJay Dallas/ RB/ Seattle Seahawks: Apparently it isn’t only Chris Carson battling an injury and in danger of missing time as Carlos Hyde (hamstring) and Travis Homer (knee) also came away with new wounds from the game against Arizona. That leaves DeeJay Dallas as the lone man standing. Dallas is a rookie and former Miami Hurricanes standout. Dallas saw 3 targets resulting in 2 catches for 18 yards. Monitor the injury situation because this could be a sneaky Week 8 play. Next 3: 49ers, @ Bills and @ Rams
